Waldvogel Times

Welcome to my idea of a simple way to stay in touch with more people. I was inspired by an old friend who has done a great job keeping friends and family posted on her everyday life. As our schedules get busier and our family gets bigger, I want to make sure that friends and family are informed!

Thanksgiving

We had a very nice Thanksgiving. Brett's new thing the last few weeks is getting up @ 7:30 AM, not taking a nap and getting crabby by days end. Well I can't complain I had nearly 3 years of a great sleeper. so now I'm adjusting my clock to get up with him. We went to a buffet at the Quilted Bear with my grandpa and aunt Lynnette. And went to Grandma and Grandpa Waldvogel's for dinner. Even though I practiced portion control I was stuffed. I doubt Brett was, he was in heaven playing at Grandma's with all his cousins. I am looking forward to Camp Minikani mini-school for him in January so he can play with other kids, I'm sure he'll love it. I'm glad now I decorated early because I feel on top of the hectic holiday schedule, but I still have a tree to finish. Went to the holiday craft fair with my mom and Lynnette the day after Thanksgiving, while Mark and Brett stayed home and continued to work on the theatre room. Both sheets of drywall are up (for soundproofing) and he is constructing the stage. This time off is nice, I don't look forward to Monday. We attempted our holiday picture at the Domes, I think it was fairly successful. I have of course included the picture of the grouch, and I mean Brett not Mark. Brett did like the balloon sculptures, especially the red race car. And happy birthday to Mark the 24th!

Santa Claus is coming to town...

Well it does seem a little earlier every year, but Santa Claus has officially arrived at Mayfair Mall. Brett has cried every year and this year was no exception. However he did manage to ask for a dump truck in between sobs and he did actually stop crying in a minute or so. And he is a good boy so I'm sure the dump truck will arrive as requested. We are almost done decorating our house for Christmas, I enjoy the decorations so much I started as early as the malls. Mark has the first layer of drywall up in the theatre room. This weekend he is putting up a second layer with soundproof glue inbetween the two layers. My deal with the room was I didn't want to hear these movies throughout the house. Looks like Mark and I are heading to the Packer game tommorow. We'll try to stay warm.

Sleeping Beauty? or Prince.

We had a nice weekend. Mark continued to work on the basement, and Brett is helping with the drywall lift. Mark projects a screening in 2 months, I think it will be sooner, he is working very hard. I couldn't resist this picture of my sleeping prince. He loves his animals and loves to cuddle them. Perhaps the mom in me, but I thought it was adorable. We canceled our trip to Hilton Head this week due to my placenta previa (Dr. Kaminiski advised against travel) so I am getting an early start on Christmas decorating. I figure all the work I should have the decorations up more than one month.

Bye Bye Summer

Well I sure am glad we spent some time outside on Thrusday enjoying that great sunshine and mild temperatures. Brett enjoyed his swingset as always. And he actually only got the courage to go down the slide by himself this summer, thanks to grandma Waldvogel's outing to her local parks, well and his growing sooo old, sooo fast. He is such a helpful little boy, he has the box to give to daddy, full of car parts. So the project for the weekend is helping me work on baby's room. I have totes of baby clothes to organize by size, wash, hang, and fold. And dad plans on working in the basement on the theatre room, we'll get some pictures soon. And thanks Auntie Laurie, Brett just loves his crane sweater. He would wear that and Johnny Tractor every day!

Cement Mixer

What a fun day. Mom finished her work in the morning and we packed up and headed to Grandma's farm in Cedar Grove, WI. Where as most of you know they are working on remodeling and an addition to the house. This was going to be a great day, I was all set to see the cement mixer. He was a little late so Papa took me for a ride on the 4-wheeler. The pictures aren't the best, I didn't want to get to close to the mixer. The driver asked if I would even help him drive, but as I got closer I was a little scared. In the end I was tired and worn out, it was a great day and I had lots of fun. Love Brett

Up and Running

I thought I could start a blog site for those of you interested in following our family happenings. As you all know we are growing and Baby Boy #2 should joind us February 2007. Something tells me I may not have as much time to send out photos and updates like I did with Brett, although I'll try. So I thought I'd give this a run. It seems to have been very successful for Shelly and I appreciate her inspiration. For now I've barely figured out the picture thing, but here is a great one of me when I met Kevin Bacon this summer! I'll work on some updates of Brett tomorow, he is the real star in our life. And perhaps some pictures of Mark's theatre room in the basement. I need to take construction pictures before he finishes the room, he is very dedicated. Well I hope you all enjoy my attempt here to keep everyone informed.
