Waldvogel Times

Welcome to my idea of a simple way to stay in touch with more people. I was inspired by an old friend who has done a great job keeping friends and family posted on her everyday life. As our schedules get busier and our family gets bigger, I want to make sure that friends and family are informed!

Play Time

Oh how cute. Two brothers playing nicely together, I hope it lasts! My mother in law gave me this toy because she said they laid under and played together so well at her house she thought they should be able to play together at home. Brett really does adore Barrett and is always so considerate of him. He gives him plenty of kisses and love pats and is concerned for him. And Barrett, well now that he is 3 months and his eyesight is improving with every day of growth, he loves to watch Brett. It warms my heart. Brett had a little bit of a tough week, it was a hard adjustment that Grandma Waldvogel wasn't here everyday like she was at the 'clubhouse' in Florida. (Brett called our condo a clubhouse, after Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). He loved the non stop attention and playing and had some adjusting this week. Barrett continues to improve in his disposition. He rarely crys now, usually only when waking from a nap to let me know he is awake. He settles down for naps very nicely, it is so much better. And while I'm counting my blessings, I'm still looking forward to the night he skips his 3 am feeding! Mark is home for a while, his last two trips were pretty short to Australia before we went to Florida and to Hong Kong as soon as we gotr back. Today he had some spring fever and cleaned out our garage. We'll probably start some yard work tomorow, 'tis the season. And a season I really look forward to!

Vacation

Sorry it has been a while for a posting. We went on vacation to Orlando, Florida for 8 days. This was Barrett's first trip and he is now 11 weeks old. He continues to do much better now that he is on Prevacid for his apparent acid reflux. He was a great baby on the vacation. He napped very well, all the tourism considered. He has resumed his fussiness at nap time now that he is home, so I'm a bit perplexed and will have to see what I can do. He really seems to just hate his bedroom, except after 8 pm. Brett had a great time. He was out of his mind with excitement to meet Minnie Mouse. We met her on day 3, and by day 7 he was very tired and not as excited to meet Mickey. He was happy to go to Sea World, and pet a Budweiser Clydesdale, go on a boat with daddy, ride the monorail, and go swimming in the pool. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo with Mark's parents and had a great time. It was awesome to have Grandma and Papa there to help with the kids, and to keep us company. Brett was happy to stay in a blue clubhouse away from home. We are back now and Mark is on his way to Hong Kong for a few days. My new mission is to get Barrett to appreciate his nap time, and start the serious ball rolling and get Brett out of diapers!

Happy Easter

Despite the snowy weather in April, Happy Easter. We had breakfast this morning at the Richfield Fire Dept. There was a pancake breakfast with the bunny. Brett enjoyed it and even snuck a peak at the fire trucks. What a lucky boy. Barrett slept in his car seat through it all. And speaking of Barrett, he is 9 weeks old and since we started Prevacid he is a new baby. He is much happier, the crying is now on a normal level and we have lots of smiles. I guess reflux was the problem. I am so relieved it was such a simple problem and that he is now feeling better. You know as a parent you only want the best for your kids. Happy Easter to all!

Cousins

We had visitors on Monday. Lucas and Aleena are my cousins and are on spring break and came for a visit from Belleville, WI. Brett had a great time playing with them. And they enjoyed Barrett. They didn't complain about his crying at all. And Wilbur really likes Lucas. For those of you who don't know, Wilbur is our Harlequin Macaw, the beautiful bird in the picture. It was a nice day for all involved. Barrett went for his 2 month check up today, and just like being one pound more than Brett at birth, he is one pound more than Brett was at 2 months, he is 12 lb, 12 oz. And we are trying a trial of Prevacid to see if acid reflux is causing him his fussiness. Whatever it is, I hope it eases up for his sake soon.
