Waldvogel Times

Welcome to my idea of a simple way to stay in touch with more people. I was inspired by an old friend who has done a great job keeping friends and family posted on her everyday life. As our schedules get busier and our family gets bigger, I want to make sure that friends and family are informed!

Spookfest 2008

Happy Halloween! We had a couple parties to go to this weekend. There is a neighbor in my subdivision who hosts a 'spookfest' every other year. It is an unbelievable party and is only every other year because it takes this family 2 months to decorate their house. I'm telling you, Universal Studios could not do a better job, it is amazing. Costumes are required and kids are not allowed. Adults only! (the kids/family party is at the same house next week, the 31st, watch for that). Before heading to the adult only party, Mark and the kids and I went to my other neighbors house for some pre-pary cocktails and a guitar hero challenge. It was great. And that way the kids felt like they had gone to a party too. Barrett could care less about the hand me down dinosaur costume and Brett would be living in his Red Power Ranger costume if I let him. And I do let him wear it quite often, I figure I'll get my $20 worth. Yes that is Mark in no costume, no surprise there if you know Mark. He actually came home and put the kids to bed and went to sleep. He just got home from Dublin Ireland the day before. They turned him into a guiness fan! Guiness Beef stew was delicious and we will be serving that here at home this week.

I got the boys a new cot for future sleep overs. I found the key to sharing. Telling Brett, from the beginning, this is not yours! Barrett does not always go down for a nap so easily anymore. It seems that he is getting older and sleeping better at night and perhaps doesn't need as long of a nap. I laughed the other day at this. This is an aerial picture. He sleeps next to a basket shelf thing and as you can see the metal basket with diapers is spread around, the books that were in arms reach, some PJ's and anything else he could pull into the crib with him.

Crayola Magic

I am extremely lucky to have a job that let's me work out of my home. There are so many advantages. Of course at times I am a little stir crazy but in the end the benefits are worth it. One of the drawbacks is that there are times that I do need to answer the phone or an email. During these times it is nice that my kids can self entertain for a few minutes. And I'm sure I will soon learn to lock the toy cupboard! As you can see Barrett is extremely proud of his artwork. He doesn't even realize the job on his toes, and the hardwood. And notice the evidence still in his hand. That stinker.

Vis A Vis Carriage Rides

We had a great time this weekend driving. Max was a little sassy the other day and got a pretty hefty work out for his attitude. Today he was very good and didn't have to work so hard. I hope the weather holds out, because as the driver a nice cold or cool wind is very unpleasant.

Loving Max

Here I am giving some much deserved love to Max. The barn where I board him had a end of summer party and I hitched him up and took some people for rides. He was on his best behavior.
