Barrett's First Haircut

Barrett had his first haircut today, and he needed it. Although with the full head of hair he was born with I would have expected this months ago. But he lost all that hair and had to grow it again. I also didn't expect him to cry like he did. It wasn't that bad, but I remember Brett didn't cry at all; Brett, my in the box kid who doesn't like change. Barrett, my go with the flow kid, well didn't want to go with the flow. In the end he did OK and looks so handsome now. And can you see Brett in the back there looking through the 'prizes'? Am I crazy, I don't understand why there are 'prizes' for being good, can't we just expect our kids to be good these days. Isn't a hug and a kiss enough of a prize?? And as for Brett, his hair was long. He got a much needed trim today as well. And this is his Zac Efron look alike cut.

Stair Climbing

Barrett is still not walking which is a suprise to me. He started cruising in October, and was very efficient in November, I thought for sure he would be walking by Christmas. Not that I'm complaining, but it won't be a big difference for me chasing anyway, he crawls very fast. He is up the stairs now in no time flat. His favorite game is being chased up the stairs. He will actually pass up an opportunity to clean the toilet now to get to the stairs. I'm back to cleaning the bathroom solo. The last picture is of him sitting on a truck toy that Brett got for Christmas. What I wasn't quick enough to capture was Brett pulling the truck along like a wagon while Barrett continued to play.

Mater

Thank you to Mark. After a long day of work last Friday I convinced him to take Brett to the World of Wheels car show at State Fair Park. Not exactly Mark's kind of car show, but Brett got to see Mater, the tow truck from Cars. What a hit for Brett. When I asked Mark why Brett didn't have his picture taken in front of Mater by his face, well because that was $5. Oh boy..... Brett went for his 4 year check up today, he is tall and skinny. And he got direct orders from Dr Smith to eat less yogurt (like 2 or 3 large containers a week) and more veggies and more balance. I knew that but recently Brett has become so picky. Ah ha, I was told to offer him a well rounded diet, take it or leave it, that he will not starve himself, for more than a day or two. So perhaps the kick I need to start cooking again is here! I'm sure Mark won't complain.

Bama - Crimson Tide Pride

Thank you to Robert and family in Alabama for the cute sweatshirts for my boys for Christmas. They look adorable. For those of you who don't know I have an Uncle in Alabama who works at NASA, and yes, he is a rocket scientist. His wife also works at NASA and trains the astronauts. Good thing because that is what Brett wants to be when he grows up. I have another uncle who is an engineer who moved to Alabama too. So a little 'Bama pride here in Wisconsin is contagious.

Brett is 4 Years Old!

Happy 4th Birthday to Brett! The days go so slow sometimes, but the years are flying by! We had a dinner with grandparents and cousins and had a great time. Brett loves to help me in the kitchen when I make fun stuff and this year we made a train cake. We had a blast. If anyone needs to borrow the cake pan let me know. Of course I put on most of the finishing touches in the end. It was a hit. The fireworks that I used in the engine were awesome. If you were at his 2nd birthday you'll remember the same fireworks. They were cool. I tried to keep his gifts to a minimum, he just has so much stuff. He did get a Cars race track from grandma Waldvogel that he can't put down. And we finished off the night by watching the last 20 minutes or so of the Lion King in the theater. That is Brett with his cousins (Laurie's children) It was a good time.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We made it through the holidays. I went to Green Bay to see my grandma the 22nd. We went to Dason and Jessica's (step-brother and sister in-law on Kristie's side) for Christmas Eve after church. A stop at Don and Jan's later that night as Barrett slept there. Then Don and Jan came to our house Christmas morning. We went to Laurie and Steve's (Mark's sister and husband) Christmas Day, and then I went to my grandpa's after that. And finally my mom hosted lunch and gifts for family at her house the 29th. I managed to go to all of these places and not bring my camera to any of them!!!! So I have no Christmas pictures right now. I am completely dependent on others to send me copies. Gotta love this digital world. But I do have a picture of Mark and Brett snowmobiling. Brett loves it. Of course he is too little for a helmet so they only go slow around our yard for a few minutes at a time but he enjoys every minute of it.
