Waldvogel Times

Welcome to my idea of a simple way to stay in touch with more people. I was inspired by an old friend who has done a great job keeping friends and family posted on her everyday life. As our schedules get busier and our family gets bigger, I want to make sure that friends and family are informed!

Great America

We had a great day on Saturday. This year for Deloitte's summer party the Chicago office invited the Milwaukee office to join them at Great America. Let me tell you, what a treat. Not only did we get free parking, free admission and food money, but the park was closed to the general public. It was bought out by Deloitte, Grainger, and the Navy. We walked on every ride in a few minutes. We had a great time, the weather was perfect. I think the smile on Brett's face is priceless. I took those pictures as we were on the Whizzer. The Whizzer was by far Brett's favorite ride. He tried the Demon and Batman the Dark Night, but both were not good. I loved the z force or something like that, the new version of the tidal wave. I also like raging bull. These new roller coasters are so smooth, they really make the eagle seem obsolete. And I did get on Superman, loved it too. I hope we have the same opportunity next year.

Barrett Update

Here is recent photos of Barrett. He continues to be a boy on the go, and I would say he is so much happier than last year. He is 19 months and just as tall as Brett was at this age, but nearly 2 pounds heavier. He likes shoes, and I have pictures of Brett at the same age liking my shoes too, must be a stage.

Tae Kwon Doe Testing

Brett tested for the first time in Tae Kwon Doe last Friday. We had to go to the Brookfield school for it, because the Germantown school is so small. Brett was very excited about it. He had to do a form, a kicking combination, and he had to know the tenets of Tae Kwon Doe; Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit. He did pass and is now a gold belt. He is very proud and so am I.

Flowers from our yard

Here are some of my late summer flowers in bloom!

2nd of School

As we went to wait for the bus this morning on the second day, Brett pointed out to me that I didn't have the camera in hand. Apparently he thinks I should take his picture every day.

First Day of 4K

Here we all are waiting for the school bus. Brett seemed excited after the orientation last week, but also a little weepy that he would miss me sooooo much if he went to school. Which is a repeat of what happened at Camp Minikani last year for a few weeks. But I kept making him go and he was fine. So I wasn't sure if he would cry today when he realized Mark and I would not be riding the bus with him or not. But he literally was on the bus before I turned around this morning. He found a seat in the front and was ready to go. The new neighbor across the street has a 5 year old daughter who rode the bus with him to school. He came home from school on a half size bus and was sweating. I imagine no air and they probably don't like to have the windows open?? Anyway, he wasn't very talkative, just ready to settle in back at home, but it sounds like he had a good day. Now I can't wait until he realizes this is an everyday event!
